The
joy in painting for me lies in the process of creating. As soon as I dip my brush in water, load it with pigment and
introduce it to my canvas, I’m in a different world. I enjoy colorful painting and my subjects are usually landscapes,
seascapes, mountain scenes and still lives. The starting point is to studying my subjects and discovering what inspires
me. Responding to colors, textures, shapes and designs encourages my imagination. I love brilliant colors and am intrigued
by the surprises that emerge as the painting unfolds. When successful, the final work will capture my viewers' attention
and trigger their imaginations.
I am drawn to the outdoors and nature. Most of my inspiration comes from various
trips I have taken. I'll stop and pull out a sketchbook or snap a photo, then paint the scene in acrylic back in
my studio.
My goal, as an artist, is to convey the beauty I see every day. I want the viewer to find my work just
as interesting as I find the process of producing it.
